There is some educational software that show positive results. (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0360131514000761) Students should not spend all their time in front of the screen, but as our society becomes more dependent on technology, I do think it is wise to teach children how to use this tool effectively.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534665086749553287.post-62875607524031683112020-04-21T12:14:37.141-04:002020-04-21T12:14:37.141-04:00Graduation requirements in Utah assign one credit ...Graduation requirements in Utah assign one credit per full year course. It's time to end the traditional 40 week school year and adopt two, 20 week semesters. A 4 week semester break and a re-shuffling of schedules. This provides students a mid year breather, and a fresh start in the second semester. Coursework could and should become more granular, with those full year 40 week classes broken up into more specific topics. This would also allow struggling students to make up a failed class fromS1 in S2. Semestering is a much better fit for the shortened attention spans that we are all experiencing and would end the downside of student/teacher familiarity - and would restore a sense of urgency throughout the school year. And it would be FREE. Just my dos centavos.NY Teacherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08292448959963091160noreply@blogger.com
