My own prediction was that CCSS would neither ...Ha. My own prediction was that CCSS would neither revitalize nor wreck education, that the end result would be nothing much. There is, however, a huge opportunity cost in all the wasted money and time to create and push the standards, and to create all those tests and curricula that (as you rightly point out) aren't really aligned to the standards but claim to be. Time for Bill Gates to acknowledge yet another expensive, failed experiment with our public education system.
