I know others are giving you crap for not realizing the obvious, but it was not obvious to you until you experienced it. A lesser person would have doubled down on their primary hypothesis rather than modify it. Keep advocating for your students and giving a voice to what you have learned. And please don't blame yourself (as you seem to do) for not speaking loudly enough-- the people you were speaking to are deaf to any knowledge, such as yours, that upsets their view-- that conveniently that allows them to attract investors. Your audience are the administrators, school-board members, teachers and parents who, like you, are more interested in students and learning than in money. They can hear you and they need to hear you.Joel Gibsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00792635712941448587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534665086749553287.post-16418459916007144832018-01-20T06:14:51.343-05:002018-01-20T06:14:51.343-05:00It strikes me, after reading your post, that if th...It strikes me, after reading your post, that if the tech moguls actually worked with us, they might actually be able to offer something useful for the classroom. I can't exactly say what it might be right now, but it seems to me that they are not interested in following this path of dialogue and true collaboration. If profit is their only true motive and greed is their only true motivator than they will continue to undermine the teaching profession and our dedicated professionals who have devoted our careers toward understanding the subtle and complex dynamics of teaching and learning.Robinellenbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16308348984472156149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534665086749553287.post-8573120011238362018-01-19T05:48:38.921-05:002018-01-19T05:48:38.921-05:00"The President has discovered that there are ..."The President has discovered that there are rivers and mountains and stuff between the U.S. and Mexico, and in his infinite wisdom realized that a literal ginormous wall of two-way mirrors and built-in season-shifting decorations is not the most practical approach. Doesn't matter when people most affected by something speak up (like black people themselves or teachers in the classroom), because what the hell do they know anyway? It's only important when the right people start saying it.Diennehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04570040547158789834noreply@blogger.com
