Duncan/King is pretending their plans are to reform for-profit universities but they're instituting a Race to the Top funding model on all public universities. One poison pill deep in the fine print is that Federal dollars are contingent on the salaries of university grads. Guess where that leaves education? and most female professions? liberal arts? All those courses white men in silicon valley & Fox News bidness hold in contempt.

In the mid 2000's I read a document from the Milken Foundation, I think (or another so-called philanthropy org) that outlined a plan to train teachers in schools- on-the-job- rather than in University Colleges of Education. They were recommending all training & support be provided by school staff & administrators. At the time, I thought this is a way to dumb down the profession & turn all teacher prep into a 5 week type apprenticeship. Now that Obama & the Clinton Dems are on board with privatizing higher ed, the new edu-experts see new opportunities for draining the public coffers.
The Milken Foundation has already received millions directly from Arne for evaluating & doing professional development in low test score schools. Check out convicted felon MIchael Milken's currency of ideas.
http://www.milkeninstitute.org/blog/view/619
Here's their TEAM/TAP program that all of TN adopted:
http://www.niet.org/newsroom/press-releases/ jcghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02125479155068030956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534665086749553287.post-80985014524460556352015-11-23T09:01:32.704-05:002015-11-23T09:01:32.704-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.jcghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02125479155068030956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534665086749553287.post-2410042473088512532015-11-22T19:04:49.110-05:002015-11-22T19:04:49.110-05:00Palm Beach County's new Superintendent is doin...Palm Beach County's new Superintendent is doing the same thing!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15990215447990225413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534665086749553287.post-25597520695933427712015-11-22T13:28:30.308-05:002015-11-22T13:28:30.308-05:00Great stuff as always...but please re-read and con...Great stuff as always...but please re-read and consider revising the second sentence of paragraph three.
