For many years scientists weighed objects when they were hot and when they were cold. They figured that heat was a fluid called "caloric" and that hot object MUST weigh more than cold. For years, they figured there was something wrong with their measuring technique. It took insight and observation by Count Rumsford to discern the source of heat was not matter but energy. Of course, at that time, most of the experimenters on heat weren't making a fortune weighing and heating objects. But there is a groundswell of "emperor's new clothes" sighters. You are chief among them! Keep up the good work and have faith that
Pearson's house of cards will fall.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07214356318088069618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534665086749553287.post-86559430554309591952015-09-15T10:10:43.221-04:002015-09-15T10:10:43.221-04:00I think I saw that movie ...

And NCLB has been the law of the land since about 2002, or 13 years. None of the gaps have been narrowed nation-wide, and here in DC, Rhee and Henderson have failed to deliver on 98% or more of their promises. Now, the next time someone says that, I can just call them out for using the implementation fallacy. From this debacle, she extrapolates a number of common face-saving strategies for dealing with being completely wrong:

(a) I was right, but reality messed up - it would have happened like I predicted if life hadn't just changed stuff around;
(b) I was *almost* right but I forgot to carry the 2 when I was figuring out dates from those coded messages in Leviticus;
(c) You know, youse all can say what you like, because I just *know* I'm right, and one of these fine days, you'll all be sorry!!!

So we've got the first one down. Looking forward to excuses (b) and (c).
Madeleinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16055922376249533020noreply@blogger.com
